Same ol'

The brain is pure mush today. I'm not quite sure why.

Paul and I spent lunch at the courthouse picking up our marriage license. The clerk said to us, "I.D.s, seventy dollars." I told him, "Wow. You make it sound like an assembly line." For some of us out there, it's a bit more significant than just a piece of paper and seventy dollars. I'm glad for me that it is. Of all the other 25 couples we saw there in 30 minutes, I wonder how many of the marriages will last a lifetime. Probably not so many.

One of our good friends in New York is expecting a baby. Happy times for them! Now I will knit them something extra sweet for their bundle of joy.

Hmmmm...I am sitting here at work under the gorgeously disgusting glow of fluorescent lights. I want to knit right here at work, but I can't really get away with that anymore. Those were the good old days.

Awww - congratulations! I remember that day vividly. Did you take pictures? Here's to your marriage lasting a lifetime! *clink!* :D

My marriage license cost $5 -- but that was 33 years ago! Wonder how much they will cost when you've been married for 33 years?

What a romantic way to spend one's lunch hour!

Congratulations!--I remember when we went to get ours, I felt like saying, "I know you're a paper-pusher, and I know this is a 'crappy kind of customer service job,' but couldja stop being such a nasty bitter ol' biddy?"

Funny, the wedding mags never mention the whole pickin' up the license romance angle...I wonder why? ;)

When the DH and I went to pick up our license it was about a 3-hour wait. WTF? And then, he get's the notion in his head that we could save $5 if we got married then and there by the justice of the peace. No way Jose! Silly men.
